In thanksgiving to God for successful completion of Bachelor of Sacred Theology (STB) programme,
the 2022 graduating set gathered at the Dominican Community Chapel on Thursday, June 16, 2022
to celebrate a Mass of thanksgiving.
The Holy Mass was presided by Most Rev. Dr. Ayo Maria Atoyebi, OP. The homilist, Rev. Prof. Jude
Mbukamma OP advised the graduating students to utilize knowledge gained to advance the growth
of the kingdom of God by making Jesus known and loved through their pastoral ministry.
Members of the graduating class had opportunity to acknowledge and appreciate members of
Management and staff of the Institute for their support and presence throughout their years of
study. A special award of excellence in teaching and mentorship was given by the graduating
students to Rev. Prof. Mbukamma OP.
In an atmosphere of felicity and gratitude, members of the graduating class joined by friends and
well-wishers exchanged pleasantries with some lecturers and members of the non-teaching staff
present. They visibly expressed their appreciation to all whose support they have enjoyed
throughout the years of study at the Institute.
In his speech, the President of the Institute, Rev. Fr Dr Joseph Ekong OP, congratulated the members
of the 2022 graduating class on behalf of the Management and Staff of the Institute. He prayed that
they remain worthy ambassadors of the Institute as they proceed to the ordained ministry in service
of God, the Church and the human race.
The second leg of the celebration took place at the Pastoral Institute of the Archdiocese of Ibadan.
Members of the 2022 graduating class were treated to sumptuous meals. The following pictures tell

A Three-Day Workshop for Candidates for Diaconate and Priestly Ordinations

Date: 2019-02-19 - 2019-02-22

Priestly Life and Ministry (PLM) workshop is a programme that draws its inspiration from the Post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation of Pope Saint John Paul II, Pastores Dabo Vobis, a document that speaks to the question of the formation of priests in our contemporary context. Observing the interconnectedness of the four areas of priestly formation, namely human formation (the basis of all priestly formation), spiritual, intellectual, and pastoral formations, John Paul II exhorts agents of priestly formation and the candidates for priestly ministry especially to offer “heartfelt cooperation to this work of formation” (no. 69).
