R.e. funding and book reviews, let's discuss this in our next supervision -= is there a day of the week that works best for you? I'm not on campus on W= ednesdays as it's my research day, and Tuesdays and Thursday work best for = me if possible? Once we have a preferred day we can try and coordinate a me= eting with as many members of the supervision team as are available (in ter= m time it's always going to be tricky to find a time for all four of us, bu= t so long as we're meeting up regularly in different configurations it shou= ld work well). R.e. accessing our past work, this is certainly something you can do (my wo= rk, for example, is available online and in the library - do let me know if= you have trouble tracking down any resources; learning how to access texts= is the maybe the most important first step in your PhD and I hope you've b= een given a tour of the library etc. If not, do let me know and I can show = you how to use it on campus and how to search from home). This said, readin= g all of our work is likely not the best use of your time at this stage - i= f we read your writing and recognise that some of our work is useful to you= r project then we'll absolutely recommend things to you (the fourth chapter= of my book, for example, is on post-phenomenology and I'm more than happy = to lend you a copy for the bibliography, even if the argument isn't of use = in itself for you), but I would recommend, instead, starting by familiarisi= ng yourself with work in the field that interests you and thinking about wh= at you want to start writing first - what you've been reading and what you = want to write will be the subject of our first meeting (which we'll have in= the next week or so). If you have any queries about any of the above then do let me know and I lo= ok forward to arranging a face-to-face meeting soon. I appreciate my inclusion in the mailing list of the digital culture and the DH forum. I am glad to inform you that I'm settling in well with the assistance of Jayde (my mentor). During our encounter on Thursday, she made me to realize that you could be of great help towards securing University funding for my Studies. It would also be useful if I could get a list of notable Journals I could publish book reviews during the course of my research.
