Dear SPT Members, dear All,

It is a pleasure to introduce to you Kirk Besmer and Ashley Shew as the new=
 Editors-in-Chief of Techn=E9. As of January 2020 they will take over from =
Neelke Doorn and Diane Michelfelder the academic management and development=
 of our journal for the next five years.

This is also the moment to recognize Neelke Doorn and Diane Michelfelder fo=
r all the work they have done for Techn=E9. They have been the Editors-in-C=
hief for six years and brought Techn=E9 to a high academic level with all p=
ast issues and the line-up of upcoming issues. Many thanks to Diane and Nee=
lke, for their commitment to our journal and for their service to the field=
: with their care Techn=E9 is and remains a leading and key journal in phil=
osophy of technology.

Kirk Besmer is the Alphonse A. and Geraldine F. Arnold Distinguished Profes=
sor at the College of Arts and Sciences of Gonzaga University, Spokane, Was=
hington State, United States of America.

Ashley Shew is Assistant Professor at the Department of Science, Technology=
, and Society at Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, Virginia, United States of Amer=
ica.

A topic of importance in the next five years of Techn=E9 is open access. As=
 any journal Techn=E9 will have to find its way forward within this general=
 development to make academic publications publicly available. The Board of=
 SPT has expressed its commitment to open access, and will work together wi=
th Ashley and Kirk to realize this for Techn=E9.

I am happy that Michael Poznic continues as Managing Editor of Techn=E9 and=
 Robert Rosenberger as its Book Review Editor.

The final weeks of 2019 are transitional weeks. I am confident that with Ki=
rk Besmer and Ashley Shew as Editors-in-Chief Techn=E9 will enter a new per=
iod of flourishing.
