Congratulations on completing Week 1. It was a pleasure to meet
so many of you and also to see some of you for the second time.
We hope you have enjoyed the course so far. As one of the
educators, I have enjoyed learning with you!

There were some interesting conversations around the word
=E2=80=98favourite=E2=80=99 and what your =E2=80=98favourite=E2=80=99 poem =
is. And thanks to
everyone=E2=80=99s recommendations - a couple of new favourite poems have
been added to my list.

There was also a lot of discussion about the different poetry
resources we link to. We are glad you enjoyed them and are
particularly grateful to those you suggested. I have pinned a
tweet there now inviting you to recommend any we have missed.

In Week 2, we will be looking at the different tools a poet has
at their disposal=E2=80=94from rhyme to rhythm=E2=80=94and asking what role=
 they
play in making a poem. We will also be setting you writing
exercises throughout the week, so that by the end you will have a
poem ready to be workshopped.

But we=E2=80=99re already getting ahead of ourselves. First we turn to=0D
